Kenny Britt is a seasoned receiver, which is why Browns coach Hue Jackson is very unhappy he dropped a crucial pass in the fourth quarter of Cleveland’s 21-18 loss to the Steelers.
Rookie quarterback DeShone Kizer threw a perfect ball to Britt roughly 20 yards downfield on second-and-19, but Britt botched the catch. For Jackson, that mistake was far too costly.
“Obviously, Kenny dropped the ball in the middle of the field, and

“He did some things very well, made a couple really good audibles. He’s making good reads. It’s just about getting comfortable and getting his rhythm.”
The team had been cautious with Newton throughout the offseason after he went under the knife in March to repair a partially torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder, limiting him to throw two passes in the preseason and listing him as questionable on the injury report. Still, he prevailed and finished 14 of 25 for 171 yards and two touchdowns with one interception in the Panthers’ 23-3 win over the 49ers.
However, Newton will need to get his accuracy under control before Week 2. He was off-target on a number of throws, including a wide-open toss to tight end Ed Dickson in the first half, and was 5-for-16 passing early in the game before going a perfect 3-for-3 to finish the first
